The length of Chapter is too short to cover all self-rescue techniques. We need to make most of the pages.
With this in mind, I'd suggest Fig 24-5 (page 522) be changed to show commonly carried items. Specifically, eliminate the double sheave pulley and DMM Revolver carabiner. Neither of these are commonly carried. Furthermore since most climbers are unfamiliar with them they add an unnecessary and confusing element to the technique being illustrated.
Additionally, this illustration shows simple, compound and complex mechanical advantage raising systems. I can't find where the differences are described. Without such an explanation any understanding of the principals at work here will stymied except for those with an engineering background.
