Missing from Freedom8. More and more people are climbing in the gym and some want to head to the mountains. What skills are required and how to gain them?

Some talk about what gym habits you may want to discard in the mountains might be useful as well.

I'd include an entire chapter about learning to climb in a gym. Belaying skills, leading, toproping, etc. There are many more gym climbers than all other forms of climbing combined. We need to serve their needs and get them outdoors safely.

One approach would be to organize the new rock climbing chapter in the sequence that many new climbers are commonly following: Namely
Gym climbing Sport Climbing Crag climbing Alpine rock climbing Aid Climbing
Each of those sections could be further subdivided into: follower skills and leader skills.

Crag should be replaced by Trad as both sport and trad climbing can take place at a crag but I like the idea.
