Happy to be over-ruled, cause I haven't thought this through, but wouldn't this thread be a good place for instructors to post (attach) their teaching aids -- Powerpoint presentations, handouts, etc.? This could be the central point to gather those materials and sort out the best.
Of course, the evaluation of materials -- aside from the factual elements -- gets subjective regarding graphics quality, descriptive clarity, etc., but coming up with a base set of teaching aids will be very helpful for new instructors. And experienced instructors could adopt as much of the basic materials as they found helpful.

Would that include photos, links to websites, DVDs and web videos? There are lots of great instructional resources out there. Here is one of my favorites.

Yes, anything instructors now use or refer students to. Unless Gene was thinking there was another place for these, perhaps they could all be placed in this thread for all to see, adopt, consider, etc. And they could be evaluated for best practices selection. Thanks.

Doug, Posting 5+ sets of Seattle's Basic Alpine Climbing course lecture slides is a problem in that they vary from ~5MB to ~56MB. These far exceeds the ProBoard 1MB limit. We might be able to post some of them individually as Google Docs and have a index/links page to find them like we are doing for videos: sites.google.com/site/freedom9bestpractices/home/links-to-videosGene
